| Life on the Saskatchewan Prairies takes centre
stage in this rollicking comedy about two brothers
who decide to form a new town. After the highway that once ran past their residence/gas station is rerouted a few miles away, Roland and Baxter Taylor declare that what they really need is a catchy name for their town. A name that will pull in tourists. A name that can be plastered on a huge, attention-grabbing roadside sign, and will make their gas station a major attraction. Just as they settle on “Dogbarked, Saskatchewan,” the brothers have the outside world intrude in the form of a Torontonian and a Vancouverite, who are scouting locations for a series of beer ads. In Dogbarked, gentle but biting humour paints an endearing portrait of a place where nothing much happens, but life goes on anyway. |
