Marion Bridge

By Daniel MacIvor

Directed by Geoffrey Whynot

Length: Approx. 2 hours

JANUARY 20 - FEBRUARY 6, 2010

Anyone with siblings can relate to this humourous tale of sisterly love…er sisterly like, okay maybe sisterly tolerance best describes it! After years apart, three vastly different sisters reunite to care for their dying mother. One is a nun, one is obsessed with a cheesy soap opera and the third guzzles booze like it’s going out of style. It’s a recipe for the kind of humour that only real-life family can create. And while there’s plenty of bickering, drinking and drama, the three sisters each emerge with a deeper understanding of each other. Set in Nova Scotia, this amusing yet meaningful tale gets at the heart of what it means to be family.

Ruth Says...

A script from one of Canada’s most celebrated playwrights and a production directed by Geoffrey Whynot that will feature our own Judy Wensel as the youngest sister. Dana Osborne will be designing sets and costumes and Louise Guinand is back to create lighting magic. I am really looking forward to seeing the three outstanding women in the cast working together on this fabulous play.
