Professional Placement Program
Over the past five years, more than 100 emerging artists from Saskatchewan high schools and the University of Regina Theatre Department have apprenticed at Globe Theatre. Through these apprenticeships, young professionals have gained experience and training as actors, designers, stage managers, musicians, stage carpenters, technicians, stitchers, cutters, dressers, production staff and arts administrators. Now, as part of Globe Theatre School, The Professional Placement Program is expanding to offer long term residencies for artists at the beginning of their careers. In partnership with the University of Regina Faculty of Fine Arts, selected students spend a semester at Globe Theatre working and training in their particular discipline: acting, directing, set and costume design and construction, arts education, sound design, music performance, lighting design, stage management, production management, and arts administration.
