Shumiatcher Sandbox Series
Most of us like the Tooth Fairy well enough: a source of delight for children, and delight in their delight for adults. But what dark truths are hidden in the exchange of baby teeth for money?

The Tooth Fairy is a dream-like odyssey, an epic of paradise lost. It rumbles onto the stage like a wooden colossus, diving into the unconscious to discover the sea-monsters of the soul. It’s a children’s puppet show for adults, and adult theatre for children.

At a breakneck pace from the northern ice-wastes, to the depths of the forested wilds, to the middle of the heaving ocean, to the horrid bilge of a whaling ship, this fairy tale, like most, is about our need for redemption. But will a coin under our pillows really be sufficient payment for the loss of our innocence?

Founded on a ranch in southern Alberta in 1999, the Old Trout Puppet Workshop has continued to elicit gasps of delight and awe from audiences and critics alike while single-handedly re-inventing puppet theatre as sophisticated entertainment for adults. You will be enraptured and enthralled by the spectacle and power of The Tooth Fairy.
